The Specialty Test Team has several openings for qualified Experimental Machinist. The selected candidate must have the
desire, and foundation that will enable him to develop and thrive in a dynamic Structural Test environment. The selected
candidate will perform dual roles as a Machinist and a Structural Test Technician. The Specialty Test Team is part of
the Systems Integration, Test and Evaluation Organization (SIT&E) within Northrop Grumman, Aerospace Systems, in
Palmdale, CA.

The selected candidate:
Will spearhead the effort to design equip and stand-up the B422 Quick-Fix shop supporting the B422 and B500
Structures Laboratories.
Must be capable of manufacturing very complex close tolerance machined hardware in a variety of materials, from
Titanium, Structural Steels, Hi-Temperature Steels/Stainless Steels, Fiberglass Epoxy, Aluminum etc. Candidate must
be highly knowledgeable and experienced with cutting tool geometry, dynamic toolpath programming, and correct cutter
Programming in MasterCam version X9 or higher, creating geometry or using Solid Models, IGES, STEP, DXF files, and
3 dimensional advanced programming techniques is a must. 4th and 5th axis programing a plus.
Well versed in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance per ANSI 14.5M 1982/1994 specifications to interpret true position
and tolerance requirements.
Capable of using HAAS CNC Milling Machines, Manual Knee-Mill, Manual Engine Lathe, as well as using all manual
support equipment and inspection tools to manufacture hardware with little or no direct supervision.
Willing to work overtime when needed to satisfy customer requirements.
Welding Experience with GTMAW a plus.


Basic Qualifications:

High School Diploma/GED and 10 years of experience as a CNC Programmer/Machinist
DoD, Secret clearance, in scope within the last 5 yrs.
Capable of obtaining and maintaining Program Access
6 years experience of programing skills using Mastercam (or similar)
Experience on HAAS CNC Milling Machines
Experience with Manual Milling and Turning Machines
Experience programming, setup and then producing parts with minimum supervision
Experience manufacturing very complex close tolerance machined hardware in a variety of materials, from Titanium,
Structural Steels, Hi-Temperature Steels/Stainless Steels Invar, Fiberglass, Aluminum etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

AA Degree plus 6 years of experience as a CNC Programmer/Machinist
Structural Test Experience, Instrumentation, Mechanical or Hydraulics
Advanced Programming Techniques
Experience in GTMAW Welding
Ability to work in a team environment.
